Last Minute Beauty Christmas Gifts!

Hey guys! I cannot believe that Christmas is Sunday, how fast has this flown in?! So I thought I'd post a little gift guide for everyone who has left their Christmas shopping until now so are in a slight panic! Most of these items are available in Boots so that should make it easier also!

I bought this exact kit for myself when it first came out, I think in November and I love it.
The kit includes

  • Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Get Fired – Full size
  • Smashbox Always Sharp Waterproof Kohl Liner in Raven – Full size
  • Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara in Jet Black – Full size
  • Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer Oil-free 15ml - Half size
  • Smashbox L.A. Lights Blendable Lip & Cheek Color in Hollywood & Highlight - Mini

  • All for £35. Seriously guys, this is one of the best sets I have ever came across. The value is incredible. For example, the full exposure is £19.50 on its own. The products are also amazing and I swear by the primer, I literally wouldn't use another. This set is perfect for ANYONE who enjoys make up. As it is Smashbox's best sellers, it is great for someone who loves the brand and someone who hasn't experienced it yet. This is absolutely my top pick for a last minute gift and I have still seen them available on boots online and in store.

    Included in this set is:
  • Be Legendary Cream Lipsticks in Famous, Primrose, Fig, Legendary, Tabloid and Inspiration (2.4g each)
  • Insta-Matte Lipstick Transformer (5ml)

This set is £25 and even though they are smaller lipsticks, the value is incredible as a full size lipstick is £17.50. This is a perfect set for anyone trying to build up their lipstick collection  and is great to try out lots of Smashbox colour's without buying loads of lipsticks.
The colour range is great and the pay off is wonderful. I am obsessed with Smashbox lipstick and feel like they are one of the better lipstick brands but don't get enough recognition for it.

This is the perfect set for any girl who loves having great looking nails, and who doesn't? The colours are probably some of the most popular Essie shades. Perfect last minute gift!

    The Christmas Tag!

Hey guys! I cannot believe how soon it is until Christmas! I feel like this year has flown in. I can't believe this time last year I was getting ready to go to New York for New Year (& getting engaged!)
I actually remembered that Laura done this tag a few years back so I wanted to do a little festive tag!

    1. What is your favourite Christmas Movie/s?
Home Alone for sure! Then Home Alone 2, Elf, Scrooged and the Grinch!

    2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
I have never really done the Christmas Eve present thing, normally my mum gives us new jammies to wear on Christmas Eve so I guess that sort of counts? But we tend to stick to Christmas morning for presents.
    3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
Family is a massive thing for my lot. Too the extent people think its weird how close we are. One year, when my cousin lived in OZ, she was due to come over for two weeks for Christmas and New Year. A week before she was due to arrive, she walked through the door and I have never been so happy. Christmas is all about family and every memory I have with them is cherished but that slightly beats it to the post.

    4. Favourite festive food?
Stuffing! I never used to like it but I am now obsessed and could eat plates full! I love nearly everything from Christmas dinner which is unusual as I am normally quite fussy. Also, shout out to quailty street toffee fingers!

    5. Favourite Christmas gift?
I am crazily lucky when it comes to Christmas gifts and have gotten some amazing gifts over the years. But again I'd need to say my cousin coming home was the best present I have ever got. You can never put a price on the gift of time.

    6. Favourite Christmas scent?
Merry Christmas Cookie by Bath and Body Works!

    7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
When my Gumps was still with us, he would take us out to either George Square in Glasgow or into Edinburgh for the Christmas Markets, have lunch some where then at night, we would drive around Glasgow, finding the best christmas lights. It was away to get us out the house so my mum and dad could wrap presents and get everything ready, with out us seeing and ruining Santa for us. It was wonderful. When he sadly passed, that christmas, I was 18 and could drive. My cousin was 5 and I wanted to carry it on for him. Now we just go a drive for some food and to spot the best lights. This year Sam and I are going to the christmas move drive in at Loch Lomond again on Christmas Eve and I will be back to take my cousin out.

    8. What tops your tree?
We always have a star! As its Sam and I's first Christmas in the flat, I bought our star the other day. It is from Tesco, it is silver, glittery and lights up. I love it!

    9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
In all serious, I never really asked for anything seriously over the top. I have recieved some extravagant gifts but never asked for them. Lord bless my extremely generous parents. What I would do when I was younger would be to circle things I wanted in the Argos Catalouge so I probably went over the top and asked for too much and didn't get everything but I never asked for anything wild!

    10. What's the best part about Christmas for you?
Again for sure family, to all have some time off together and to spend it with each other. There will be 16 of us at my mum's this year and I am so excited for it.

If you are a Christmas lover like us here at Tartan Fairytales,
let us know what your favourite things about it are by doing this tag!
    Have a great one guys!

    Skincare Routine!

    I'm Hello old friends!

I've always been pretty good with my skincare as I've been taught from a young age to always look after my skin (thanks mum!) & now I am going to be a bride, I'm being even more strict with my skincare! So here is my routine now!

So here is me before I done anything, a full face of make up!
Then all I do is use a baby wipe to take it all off

Looking pretty fresh faced huh?! Well nope. I then put on my simple moisturiser  and use my clarasonic Mia 2 to clean it off.

I've lusted after a clarisonic for years and years but have never been able to justify the price. However when I was in New York, this one was on sale in Sephora for $89 just because it was lavender! And I love the colour. As it was my last day and I had a bit of money left, I decided why not, just go for it! I'm so glad I did. It is wonderful. My skin has never felt or looked so good!

The colour of this brush shows how much make up is left over after cleaning with just a wipe. I make sure I clean my brush head after every use.

I then use my simple moisturiser, just as you do.

Then I use my Benefit 'It's potent!' Eye cream to try and banish these black circles.

A little tip I have learned from my job is that not to put eye cream right on the dark circle area. Put it slightly under as it travels up. I spoke to a plastic surgeon at a brand event and he said that when he done procedures to get rid of eye bags, when he opened them, it was all old eye cream! YUCK! Sorry for the info but it's better to know! So I just pat that in. & that's me!

Let me know what you guys do in terms of skincare!
    Until next time!
