November Lipstick Diary: Day One!

Hey guys!

So here it is, the first day of my November Lipstick Diary! I am cheating slightly as I am using the same lipstick from my October faves, the Kylie Jenner Lipkit in 'Kristen'

As you probably already know, the lipkits are $29 for the liquid lipstick and liner and $14 for international shipping which is around £35, I normally order with friends or my sister so I always have someone to pay shipping with. I got this particular lipkit when Kylie Cosmetics were offering $5, I already had been lusting after this shade so I was so excited.

'Kristen' named after Momager Kris Jenner and King Kylie's middle name, is the most beautiful strawberry red. It is absolutely beautiful and it is no surprise that it is now her best selling shade.

I am absolutely obsessed with Kylie's lipkits. The are my favourite brand of liquid lipsticks and I have a lot. I don't feel like they dry out my lips too much and they last all day, needing only slightly topped up after eating etc which is expected. The liner can be quite hard to sharpen I find but that may just be my sharpener as I haven't heard of this before.

I absolutely love this colour and if you were looking to get a Kylie lipkit and didn't know were to start, I would go with Kristen!

Expect to see more Kylie Cosmetics during this diary!

Much love!

Thats How It Works, It's How You Get The Girl : Gemma's Dating Tips

I don’t have many single friends, however the ones I do have are constantly asking me for advice and tips. Not to blow my own trumpet or anything here (how I wish I could insert a moon face emoji here ha!) but I have been told my tips and tricks work. I’m for sure not a dating expert FOR SURE but I have had my fair share of break up and make ups. I’m not saying these tips will work but I just thought it would be fun just to share what I would do if I was trying to land the boy!

1     1) DO NOT BE NEEDY. Now some people say this goes against feminism this one, for why I am not quite sure as I am encouraging independence but hey, this is the generation we are in where you definitely can’t please anyone. The reason Sam and I work so well is because we give each other space. People may say that it is because we are five years in but even at the start when we wanted to spend every waking moment together, we didn’t. We still knew we had another parts of our life that needed attention. And we gotta admit it girls, as cliché as it sounds, sometimes you just need alone time and there is nothing wrong with that. Boys are the same, if he is out with the boys, he doesn’t need to be bombarded with texts and calls. How annoying! I don’t understand why people do it, I would hate for someone to be constantly checking up on me. This also includes not contanstly bombarding your love interest with calls and texts. In the past, there were guys I had been talking to and for example, when I came out of work there would be 10 missed calls and about 20 texts. Now there is nothing wrong with multiple texting when you are really comfortable with the person. But all this does when you first start speaking to someone screams SECURITY!! It is so creepy and off putting. I know at the start all you want to do is text back right away, but trust me if you wait a while and replying saying ‘Sorry I was out’ and continue the conversation without saying else about it, you will definitely grab their attention. You still got to focus on yourself and not be overbearing. Oldest one in the book but its true. This will only make your relationship more comfortable. Added bonus.. his friends will love you. I can’t tell you how many times Sam’s friends have said ‘I can’t believe you let him play his xbox when you are there!’ Ummmm why would I not?

22)      I’M NOT GONNA DISS YOU ON THE INTERNET. I cannot stress this one enough. There is nothing more embarrassing than when people are posting comments and statues saying things such as ‘Oh lol, bae has pied me again. Guess that is that.’ And such. You get the gist. It is not only going to stop the person from talking to you ever again, it is also really embarrassing for everyone else to read. When I see people posting things like this, I cringe so much my insides hurt. Text your pals. You are doing yourself no favours here. If you post about someone you aren’t even in a relationship with, what the heck are you going to do to the poor soul if you end up in one. Relationships need to grow and develop in private. If you really want to post someone to get them to notice. I recommend song lyrics so you can back track if you change your mind. I even cringe at the fact I done it at 14, thank goodness I learned!

33)      ENCOURAGE! When you are with bae, there is so much you can do to get him to pay attention, especially in a big group. It is so Cher in Clueless by my lord it works. Boys are so easy persuaded sometimes, bless them! And because we can’t all be Cher and afford to send ourselves gifts. There are for sure other ways such as, rubbing your collar bone, making eye , contact with a cheeky smile and rubbing their arm etc! When I was 17, biting my bottom lip slightly (CHEEKY!) always worked for me. But that is so cringey to admit now!

44)      ENJOY! The start of new relationship are so much fun and probably the best memories which you will never be able to have again so make the most of it! Don’t over analyse everything, go with the flow and if it works out, it works out. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t! Just enjoy the experience and excitement of meeting someone new!

Ok so that is it! This is in all good humour and not to be taken too seriously! Let me know if you have any tips and tricks that helped you land your significant other. We are all in this together!

Until next time!

October Favourites!

October Favourites!

Hey guys! So I thought I would do a quick October Favourites post! So here are some stuff I’ve been LOVING this month.
Kylie Cosmetics Lipkit in ‘Kristen’
I am obsessed with the Kylie Jenner LipKits. They are my favourite liquid lipsticks for sure. I will give a more in depth review though when I do my Lipstick diaries. I have naturally big lips, one of the only things I don’t dislike about my appearance! So these lipkits are amazing at highlighting this. Kristen is my 5th lipkit colour and I can’t stop wearing it. It came out the same time as two other colours, ‘Mailboo’ and ‘Ginger’ and when they were released I wanted them all. At first I only got ‘Mailboo’ and ‘Ginger’ (trying to save money yano) but when Kylie Cosmetics were doing $5 shipping I knew I had to get ‘Kristen’ and thank goodness I did. It is the most beautiful strawberry red, I truly haven’t seen any other colour like this. And I have a lot of lipsticks. It appears to suit so many different skin tones and I get multiple compliments every time I wear it. ALL HAIL KING KYLIE!

Lokai Bracelet
I have wanted a lokai bracelet since I first seen one on Instagram years ago – I know, what a basic. But they are the cutest thing and I love the whole mantra about it. There is ups and downs in life and I always need reminding of this, there will always be light at the end of the tunnel. But shipping to the UK was quite high so I never ordered one. So for my birthday a few weeks ago, my aunt who lives in Texas, gave me one! She bought it when my gran was over visiting and gave it to her to give to me. I absolutely adore it and it goes with every outfit as it is so simple.

Dance Moms
I have been watching Dance Moms for a few year now but when Sam and I moved into our new flat in August, Lifetime had started reruns in order from season one and I put it on. He is hooked! It is hilarious, he thinks he is Abby. Every time someone make a comment he doesn’t agree with or for example I spilled tea on the floor, he says ‘Everyone is replaceable’ and it is just so funny. He says it so seriously as well and we just end up in hysterics. We watch it basically every day and we are so obsessed. The episodes with Chloe, Brooke and Paige are the best though. Free Abby Lee Millar!

The Great British Bake Off
I have never watched GBBO before and boy have I been missing out. I’ve loved masterchef for years but never thought to give GBBO a go until Sam and I moved in and were looking for a new show to start and this was starting at the same week so we decided to give it a go. I am so in love, I can’t believe I have missed all these glorious year of Bake Off and now it is moving without Mel, Sue and the cutie Mary!! Damn it, Gemma! I have loved this season and now think I am a pro baker, getting my bake on each week. Tom & Jerry cakes count right? So gutted it is finishing tonight! Just ending this by declaring my love of Val.. Val you are the winner in my eyes.

Blue Dragon Noodle Wok Pots
Ok, a little weird to be including food but I have to. These little babies are deeeelish. I put on a little weight recently, only a couple of pounds but I am not happy so I’m back to clean eating and hitting the gym five times a week. However, when I don’t have time to do my meal prep for lunch or really, I just want something different from chicken salads, I have these. They are so filling and are 110 calories per pot so win win! They can be quiet tricky to hunt down but if you can find them, I so recommend. They are amazing.

Milky Way Crispy Rolls
Another weird food post but I can’t not include these beauties. I’m pretty sure everyone has had at least one crispy roll or at least heard of them. I feel like I can’t live without them. I have at least half of one a day, its becoming a real problem. But at only 64 calories for the bar, I’m sure I can let it slide. Also they are available in most pound stores for a box of five. Bargain!

So that is everything I have been loving this month. Did you enjoy anything the same or similar this month? Let us know!

Lets Take It Back To The Start..

Aloha Chickens! Ok so if you are reading this, you are probably thinking ‘I followed this blog years ago and it just stopped appearing on my home page.’ Well that is all about to change my friends as I am back and I hope you guys are still with us! This time it is for keeps. I haven’t posted since January when I got engaged and life has been pretty crazy. Since then I have moved house, started a new job, went to Vegas and much more. It hasn’t all been hunky dory though, not to sound like a blogger cliché but also had a mental health diagnose and during all this I barely got out of bed to eat never mind consider writing a post. However, I’m feeling better and I am back with a much more postivie and optimistic outlook for our little piece of the internet. Before I felt like I was just posting for the sake of it, my content wasn’t good, neither was the writing.  Now I am brimming with ideas and hope I get back into the swing of it!

Starting November, I want to start a lipstick diary with a different lipstick swatch and review EVERY Monday to Friday. Fingers crossed I can actually keep up and not let life get in the way.

So friends, I hope you are still with us all these months later. I have missed you.
To Tartan Fairytales!

Lots of Love,
G x
