Fave Celeb Looks of 2015!

Hope you guys had a great Christmas!
I thought I'd end 2015 with a round up of my favourite celebrity looks from the past year!

2015 was defo the year of the Kylie J takeover, bomber jackets and nude lips became a staple in so many teenagers lifes, all thanks to the baby sis of Kim K.

Also, Zendaya played pretty much every red carpet she appeared on.
Girls got some serious style!

So here are a few of my favourite looks from the past year!

Zendaya @ Go Red For Women Red Dress Collection 2015.

Kylie J rocking some ripped white jeans, green bomber jacket & some Timberland boots.
(this also could be from 2014 - I'm not really sure, soz!)

Can't have one Jenner, without the other!
Kendall's street style was absolutely killer this year!

Gigi Hadid also killed it with her street style @ all the fashion weeks!

Kate Beckinsdale @ The Golden Globes is up there with my favourite look this year!
Her Ellie Saab Couture gown is an absolute dream!

And last but not least my all round girl crush

Until next time,
Have an amazing 2016!

Christmas/New year make up!

Hey guys! So as you can imagine I am super busy this time of year with make up for Christmas parties, so I thought I would share this look I done today with you! Lots of glitter and nice and smokey!

I really love this look (if I do say so myself!) A silver glitter black cut crease & it's so easy to do! So here are the steps..

1. Prime you eye. You all know the drill by now. This makes your shadows last all day and make the colour pop.
2. Apply a brown transition colour in the crease. This will make everything blend more easily and make the eye look smokey. I used 'salted caramel' from the TooFaced Chocolate bar palette.
3. I then applied Vaseline to the lid so the glitter had something to stick onto. I just used Barry M's fine glitter dust in silver. It's just like Mac's 3D glitter and a fraction of the price!
4. So now you had you glitter. Apply your eyeliner with a large flick - this is so the cut crease has something to merge with. Gel or liquid is best for this.
5. Take a matte black eyeshadow - I used revolver from the Vice 3 palette - with a pencil or definer brush. I used a Mac 219. Just gently start applying the black shadow in the crease. Apply, little and often and build it up slowly and blend as you go until you get the line you are after.
6. Apply the same colour you used for your transition shade on your bottom lash line and then apply your black on the last third of you bottom lash line.
7. Apply your fave mascara and lashes and you're good to go!

Here is a little video of the look so you can see the colours better!

You can see more make up looks on my professional make up page - Gemma Stewart Make Up.
Or if you'd rather you are more than welcome to book in with myself!

Until next time!

Where have you been Gemma?!

Oh my days you guys! How bad am I with blogging these days?! Back in the day I would schedule posts when I was going on holiday and everything! Now I can't even put up a post when I'm free! It is due to a mix of being away travelling, having a new job in which I work like 50 hours a week and honestly? Pure laziness as well! But I seriously miss blogging so I promise I am going to get straight back into it. No more slacking! So here is a little up date on what I've been up to in these three months...

Travelling around Thailand!
So you guy (if you have read my previous posts) knew Sam and I were travelling around Thailand in July/August. Ughhhh guys, I can't recommend it enough. You have to visit Thailand once in your lifetime. I am going to do a proper Thailand post as this is just a little catch up post. We visited Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket & Maya Bay. Here are a few random Thailand pics...

My dream job!
When I came home I finally started my dream job as a full time Make Up Artist in Tartan Llips make up salon in Glasgow City centre! How weird is it that I get a job in a place that also has tartan in the name!? If you are interested in seeing my work you can see my business Facebook Gemma Stewart Make Up. I've already started posting some Halloween looks and I am hoping I get some time to post up tutorials of Halloween looks up here! Here's a lil sneak peek of what you can expect on my Facebook...

I then visited Dubai last week for my aunts 50th. I know, I have no savings to my name. I've already decided that I'm going to have my hen week here. I'm not engaged or anything, but that doesn't matter right?! I am so in love with Dubai and can't wait to go back.

Family homecoming!
Ok so probably the most important thing that's happened since I have last blogged and probably the main thing keeping me from blogging is that my big cousin and her beautiful little girl (who I call my niece) have moved back home from Australia to good old Glasgow! So most of my free time has been spent with them making up for lost time. It's so good to have them home.

So that's where I have been and why I have been slacking so much! But now, hopefully as I am back into a proper routine, I can get right back into blogging regularly. I've missed you guys!

Until next time!

Fullips review!

Okay, so a good few months ago Kylie Jenner's lips were the talk of the town and so many people were trying anything to get the same kind look!

So being the sucker that I am, I bought one of the things people were suggesting!

I have a thin top lip, but a fuller bottom lip so went with the medium Fullips. And was pleasantly surprised to find out it actually worked!

Fullips is a natural lips enhancer, and even though it is temporary fix, it's still a really good one at that!
Below is my results!

You can purchase Fullips here or here!

Have any of you tried out Fullips?!
We'd love to know what you think!!

Until next time,

Holy Chic!

Hi guys!
Just a quick wee post today on a few finds I found whilst out shopping today!

The jumper which reads "Holy Chic!" which I think is so good was only £5.99 in H&M!!
Six quid!!

So I paired it with 2 different items of clothing, which I also found for cheap!

First up is this gorgeous white skirt from H&M which believe it or not, only cost me a fiver!
It was in the sale section, so def worth a lil rummage in there!

Secondly, I paired it with a pair of light wash cropped jeans from Primark, which were reduced down to £5 too! They also came in black, white & ripped lightwash too! So make sure to check the next time you pop in to primark!

I finished off both outfits with some pointed nude court shoes from Dorothy Perkins, got these a while back though, but any nude shoes will go perfect!

You can find the jumper here & in store too!
They have a few variations of the jumper!

Until next time,

The Boyfriend Tag!

AH! So after asking Sam to answer a simple 30 questions for me, for the past year and a half he has finally done it! So without further ado, I give you, the boyfriend tag!

1. Where did we meet?
Sam - 'The Glenskirlie (work)'
Gemma - True! We both worked in a function suite at a hotel and this is where we met!

2. Where was our first date?
S- 'Mcd's/pics lololol!'
G - Again this is right! So firstly we went on a casual mcdonalds run because Sam was 'just driving by' and asked if I 'fancied a burger' so romantic! So I went and we arranged our first proper date which was to the pictures and dinner. We went to see Bridesmaids and ugh it was so awkward because the first scene was people really going for it in the bedroom!

3. What was your first impression of me?
S- 'That girl is the one'.
G- There is no way this is what he thought haha! He is definitely at it. My first impression was that he was very tall! (He is around 6 foot 3).

4. When did you meet the family?
S - 'Around a month and a half after we first went official'
G- Correct. At my 18th birthday party!

5. Do I have any weird obsessions, if so - what?
S - 'Picking your nails'
G - This is honestly the worst answer ever. I haven't picked my nails for around a year so thats already off to a bad start! And I definitely wasn't obsessed with it! I thought he would have said my Adam Sandler obsession - which is boarding on both weird and creepy.

6. How long have we been together?
S - 'Nearly 4 fab years'
G - 4 years this August!

7. Do you have a tradition with your gf/bf?
S - 'Date night'
G- OMG. He is so **** at this. I would say that since we have went out, I have always bought him funny underwear for Christmas and he has always bought me funny socks. We never told each other we were doing it and then both done it again the next year, again without telling each other. So I would say that is our tradition. We also always try to get a weekend or night away to either Loch Lomond or Saint Andrews each year so I would count that as one too.

8. What was our first roadtrip?
S- 'St Andrews, summer 2012'
G- Yep, it was a great day so we drove up, had a swim, lay on the beach and a cosy pub lunch. It was a wonderful day. I got burned through the glass in the car on the way home.

9. What was the first thing you noticed about me?
S- 'Smile'
G- Again it was probably his height.

10. What is my favorite restaurant?
S- 'Tgis'
G- This is one of my favourite places so I'll give him that but my real favourite restaurant is a little Italian in Dunnon called La Cantina. I've been going since I was about 7 and I love it.

11. What do we argue about the most?
S- 'Me being an idiot'
G- This is also wrong haha. Honestly we don't argue that much. And when we do argue, Sam just accepts all fault and just says sorry. So that's what we argue about! I know you guys are gonna think I am crazy that I argue with my boyfriend because he DOESN'T argue with me. But I feel like when he just takes the fault but actually doesn't mean it, we can't communicate about what ever issue we have been arguing about so then and in turn can't fix it. I always say to him that if you are upset about something, let me know and we can fix it. I know this sounds so crazy but I can't explain it properly. I know what I am trying to say but it isn't coming out right!

12. Who wears the pants in the relationship?
S- 'Sammy of course'
G- He knows that it is actually me! I'm the boss!

13. If I am watching tv what am I watching?
S- 'Teen Mom. And if this is not on - 16 and pregnant. Any show MTV has with children having children'
G- 100% right. Omg he is hilarious, he hates them so much! He hates that he knows all the girls names and all the kids names. I am obsessed. YAY to the OG being back! I wish Maci and Chelsea were my friends. Sam would either be between, Suits, Prison Break and Two and a Half Men. Only if its the Charlie Sheen ones though, he is too loyal and doesn't like the Ashton ones.

14. What is one food I do not like?
S- 'Mixed Pickle from any Indian'
G- Yep. This is a running joke. Sam always makes me try his food when we go out for dinner and when we had only been going out a few months he made me try mixed pickle and oh my lord you guys it was the worst thing I have ever tasted!! I thought I was going to throw up and Sam thought my reaction was hilarious. So we still laugh about it now. And if I don't like something Sam will always ask 'Is it worse than mixed pickle?' and the answer is always no!

15. What drink do I order when we go out to eat?
S-'Diet Coke'
G- Yep! And Sam will have Coke Zero

16. What size shoe do I wear?
G-Yep and he is a 10/

17. What is my favorite kind of sandwich?
S- 'The simply chicken mayo one from Boots. You are obsessed.'
G- This is so true. I am crazy about this sandwich, is you haven't had one and you live in a place that does Boots meal deals, I recommend you go and try one. His is a Chicken BLT.

18. What is one talent I have?
S- 'You are really good at make up'
G- He is crazy good at cooking, like so good.
19. What would I eat everyday if I could?
S-'Toffee Pavlova'
G- This is one of my favourite things but this is wrong so wrong. It would 100% be toast and scrambled eggs which EVERYONE knows. This would be my last meal if I was on death row! Sam always says that he could never pick one for this as he'd get too bored of it.

20. What is my favorite cereal?
S-'Coco Pops'
G-100% I blooming love Coco Pops. His is either porridge or wheetabix because he is a boring old grandpa.

21. What is my favorite music?
S-'Blink 182/The kind of music thats in the American Pie films, you mad mosher!'
G- I can't stop laughing at his answer for this! He always calls Pop Punk mosher/rocker/emo music. I do truly love that genre though. I also love R&B/Rap. I love kind of every genre apart from House and Trance and that kind of stuff. Whereas that and Rap is Sam's fave.

22. What is my favorite sports team?
S- 'Manchester United'
G- I did used to support Man U when I was little. Mainly for Ronaldo (mmmm), I must admit, but then I still stuck with them after he left. But I am so not into football anymore. But then this is Sam's team as well funnily enough so that was a weird coincide. Even though I didn't support football by the time we met. My team is my beloved New York Knicks. I love basketball.

23. What is my eye color?
S- 'Brown'
G- I am so upset with this! Back in the day he could do that smooth line from the film, 'Monster in Law' and tell me what my eyes looked in every situation and every light and now he can't even tell me my actual colour. Mines are green. And they have a blue edge so they have absolutely no brown in them! His are hazel.

24. Who is my best friend?
S- 'Caitlyn, Chloe & Laura'
G- Probs to him for getting all three! His are called Mathew, Declan and Tom.

25. What is something you do that I wish you didn't?
S-'I never text back'
G- Yeah this annoys the living crap out of me. I don't care that he never texts me but it is so annoying when I need to know something or ask him a question, he reads it and just doesn't reply! Can't a gal get 3 seconds of your day for a reply!

26. Where am I from?
S- 'Glasgow'
G - Born and raised. Sam was born in Surrey and moved up to Glasgow when he was two with his parents.

27. What kind of cake would you bake me on my birthday?
S- 'Cheesecake'
G- I would be more than OK with this I love cheesecake. I would make him his fave - chocolate fudge cake.

28. Do I play any sports?
S- 'No but you spend a lot of time in the gym'
G- This is true. Currently I try to go to the gym about 3 to 5 times a week. Never any less than three. He plays football and also goes to the gym.

29. What can I spend hours doing?
G- Another good answer and very true. I spend most of my free time (which isn't much) with my head in a book! He can spend DAYS playing his dreaded playstation.

30. If I could live anywhere, where would it be?
G- Everyone who knows me would have got this right, this has been my dream since I went when I was around 11. Sam wants to live somewhere like Miami. Somewhere thats a big city but also is a beach city.

So that is Sam and I's take on the Boyfriend tag! I hope you guys enjoyed this and liked finding out a little bit more about us! We done this over the phone so I don't know if my answers are right, they are just what I think! Have you done this tag with your partner? If  not I tag you all to do it as it was so much fun!
I'll sign off with some pictures of us through the years
Until next time,

How I Contour!

Hey y'all! One of my favourite things to do, make up wise, is contour! It is such a big trend these days and I do admit that I love it. So I thought I would share with you, how I contour my faces, Which is also how I contour most of my clients!

So this is me just with my base done (foundation, concealer), brows and mascara! My cheek bones aren't actually that bad before I contour anyway but I still do it!

I use this cream shadow palette from MAC to contour. The darkest brown shade at the bottom. With the real techniques blush brush.

I then do the 'suck-your-cheeks-in-pout' contour face we all know and love! And apply the product just under my actual cheekbone.

I also contour the bottom of my chin and around my forehead.

For highlighting I use Garnier Tinted Roll-On in Light. Which believe it or not is the exact same on that featured in Laura and I's second ever post here on Tartan Fairytales way back in October 2013! I am going to be heartbroken when this runs out!

Then I apply this all over the usual areas. Just under the line I applied my contour on my cheeks. Underneath my eye going all the way down to were my contour is. In the middle of my forehead and just around my cupid's bow.

I just use the brush I use to apply my foundation and buff that all in together, really making sure it is all blended together

I then grab my Nars Laguna bronzer.

& apply this to were I had already placed the cream product that I had buffed in just before this step.

I then blend this by going up and down it with my brush.

Onto my highlight that I place above my blended in Laguna and around the end of my brow. This one was a limited edition MAC mineralize skinfinish in Superb. My fave ever!

This is my finished face!
Apologies about my hair, I hadn't even brushed it yet, hey ho!
I know this seems like a lot of make up and I don't do this everyday!

So that is how I contour, do you do any of the same steps or use any of the same products?
Let us know!

TooFaced Melted Lipstick Review!

Hey guys, so if you seen my previous NYC Haul post you will have seen that I picked up one of the TooFaced Melted Lipsticks (I'm not even sure they are classed as lipsticks) and I finally got round to wearing it and thought I would let you guys know what I thought.

The colour I picked up was 'Melted Marshmallow' which is a beautiful pale pink that I thought would be great for every day wear.

This is what Melted Marshmallow looked like on.. AFTER 8 COATS!!! I'm not even kidding guys I had to lather this on my lips to get any kind of colour payoff. When applied to my lips it felt like I had actually dipped them in oil. I was desperate to wipe it off straight after it touched them. But I decided to keep it on and persevere!

The product probably lasted about an hour and a half on my lips before it came completely invisible, however the awful oil feeling was still there. So I then took it off.

After I took it off my lips were crazy, crazy dry and this is what the looked like! I couldn't believe it! They were totally fine before I applied my melted lipstick. I am so so gutted, I have wanted one since they came out and I really thought I was going to love it. I have to say I will probably give this away to someone else and hopefully they will get on with it. I will definitely not be purchasing another. I find it all so strange though as I have never seen anyone not like this product! Everyone absolutely raves about them! Oh well you win some you lose some!

Have any of you guys used one of these lipstick/glosses and found the same problems?
Am I doing something wrong? Can I rectify this?!
Let us know guys!

Since You've Been Gone!

You're all singing Kelly Clarkson too, right?!
I did a post a lil while back of books I wanted to read, but hadn't got around to actually reading them, and this baby was on the list!

Flashforward, I'm off work ill and needed something to distract me from the constant feeling sorry for myself & the nausea. I pick up this book and I finish it in one sitting. Yep. It was that good!

So down to business,
Sloane & Emily are best friends. Then one day Sloane disappears without almost a trace, the only thing left for Emily is a to do list with 13 tasks!

So, Emily reckons that once she has completed all the tasks, Sloane will be back.

This book follows Emily's summer of completing all the tasks Sloane has set her from, Hugging a Jamie to Kissing a stranger! It really is a good read and a super interesting story!

Sometimes the answer to something is right in front of your face the whole time.

Seriously tho, you won't regret picking this book up!
A feel good summer read!

You can get it from Amazon here!

Sorry if I didn't do a good job of describing it too well, I just want to make sure I don't give too much of the story away!

Have you read this?! Are there any books you recommend?!
Let us know, we'd love to hear!

Until next time,
- L x
