Beauty Scenario Tag!

Hey guys! Gemma here with yet another tag! I can't stay away from them. If you have been reading blogs and watching beauty youtube videos recently then you will definitely seen the Beauty Scenario Tag that is floating around, so I thought it would give it a try!

1. You have to get rid of all your foundations and you can only keep one high end and one drugstore, which do you keep?

I don't really tend to use any high end foundations as I find that drugstore ones can be just as good for half the price so I can't pick on for them. For my drug store one it would probably be my Revlon 'Nearly Naked'.

2. You go for an interview and the lady interviewing you has lipstick on her teeth. Do you approach the subject or ignore it completely?

I definitely have to say no to this one! I know its probably bad but when I don't know someone well I am actually quite shy so for this reason I would not be brave enough  to tell her!

3. You're not feeling yourself and need a pick me up. Which lipstick do you put on to make yourself feel beautiful?

Any red! I can't pick a specific one but red lippy just makes me feel so glamorous with such minimal effort.

4. You go back in time for a day to your teenage years, how would you do your hair and makeup differently?

I didn't really start wearing make up properly until I was about fifteen - before then it was just a bit of mascara. & even when I did, I don't think I was nearly as bad as some of the other girls my age! I would probably just make sure my face blended with my neck. I normally just wore my hair straight and down which I do now. So not a lot different. Maybe be a bit more adventurous with my hair.

5. You ask your hairdresser for a shoulder length Pixie Lott hair cut, but they hear wrong and give you a pixi cut. Do you a) Smile, say thank you, leave and call your mum hysterical b) Cry in the chair and things get awkward or c) Complain to the manager and demand a refund.

This would with out a doubt be option A. I hate confrontation and would rather hide away in a corner than say something. Which again is probably bad. I definitely need a back bone!

6. Your friend surprises you with a 4 day city break and you have 1 hour to pack. Which 'do it all' palette do you pack in your makeup bag?

My MAC RiRi 'Her Cocoa'. I just love this palette. Even though there are only 4 colours, there is so much you can do with it.

7. Your house has been robbed, don't worry everyone is safe, but your beauty stash has been raided. What's the product you really hope is safe?

If my house has been robbed, the last thing I would be concerned about would be my make-up! All make-up is replaceable.

8. Your friend borrows your makeup and returns it in awful condition. Do you a) Just pretend you haven't noticed b) Ask them to repurchase it or c) Secretly do the same to something of theirs

Again it would need to be A. Again make up is replaceable. Option C is like crazily spiteful! These things happen, as long as they didn't ruin it on purpose!

Ok so that is my take on the Beauty Scenario Tag! I promise I will leave the tags alone for a while and get back to different kinds of posts. Until next time guys,

Beauty Blogger Tag.

Hey guys, Laura here - so sorry for the lack of posts lately, life has been a bit hectic! But I'm back with a wee tag post that I saw on Kerri's blog and thought this would be a great tag to do, to get me back into the swing of blogging!

State that the tag was created by The Beau Bow
Tag as many beauty bloggers as you would like
Title this post the ‘Beauty Blogger Tag’

Questions & Answers:
1. Name a beauty routine you barely do.
Moisturise my body! I try so hard, but just get really lazy! After I dry off I just put my pjs on, and can't be bothered to do it, but I really got to start!

2. Is washing your brushes something that you regularly do?
Sometimes. I go through phases - i try not to leave it to long as it just gets disgusting!

3. How long do you last with chipped nail varnish?
I don't paint my nails often, because with the kind of work I do, it chips after like 15 minutes!! So maybe like a day?

4. How often do you put off buying/replacing a beauty item or nail polish, even if you need it?
So long! I'm currently out of my foundation, and have been for about a month but keep putting off repurchasing!

5. What is your worst beauty habit?
Probably, wearing too much make up, I never really let my skin breathe!

6. Name something non-beauty related that you tend to put off all the time?

Tidying my room!

7. When going out somewhere do you leave getting ready until the last-minute or not?
I don't! I like to take my time getting ready when going out, so always start early!

8. Can you commit to spending bans?
I don't really go on bans - I just know my limits when buying things!

9. How organised is your make up and nail polish collection?
Both are actually pretty organised!

10. What is the longest time you have gone without writing a blog post?
The longest time has been since my last post, until now! So a good few weeks! Not good!

Okay, so there ya have it - The Beauty Blogger Tag.

I tag all of you who'd like to do this!

Until next time....

Lotsa love,

Book Club - Blog Style!

Hey Guys, Gemma here.

Now if there is something I love, it is sitting down and getting lost in a good book. This has always been the case with me. Even in primary school when teacher's would ask who read outside of school - I would always put my hand up. Regardless of the fact it wasn't 'cool'. I would sit for hours on end reading Jacqueline Wilson book (which I still pull out now and again) and be happy as Larry! Recently I have been loving Sophie Kinsella books and if you read my T.M.I tag post, you will have seen that my latest book was  'Remember Me' by Kinsella. I am a little late on the Kinsella bandwagon and I am not sure why I have came across her books until now. But I have to say the two I have read are amazing. She has a brilliant and fresh writing style. So I thought, I would share my love of books with all of you, like a book club but in blog form! When I finish my current books I will have a ramble about them! & you guys can let me know your favourites!

'Remember Me' is a story about Lexi Smart and again if you read my T.M.I tag, you will have seen that I said it reminded me of 'The Vow'. This is in the sense that the book begins with Lexi waking up in the hospital with amnesia. She believes it is 2004, that she is a girl with crooked teeth and frizzy hair, just suffering from a bad hangover after a night on the tiles with her best friends. Lexi is then informed that it is actually 2007. The teeth and hair are fixed and she is married to a gorgeous millionaire. Lexi can't believe her luck. Waking up to the perfect life. Now I don't want to include any spoilers but all I will say is the cracks in Lexi's perfect life start to show through. Her previous best friends won't respond to her emails for some reason and her mum and sister aren't how she remembers at all.

This book has definitely became one of my favourites and I recommend it to you all. I loved being on the journey with Lexi, finding out about her life now and everything in between. I must admit I was pretty gutted when I had finished it! 10/10 from me!

Let me know if you have read 'Remember Me' or any other Sophie Kinsella books!

Until next time guys!

London Baby!!

Hey guys, so so many apologies for the lack of posts, London then straight to a weekend away for my bezzie's 21st then an overnight hospital stay took up all of my time! I won't let it happen again! I thought I would do a little post on what I got up to in London town..

So this trip was from the 3rd of March until the 7th. It was arranged by my Uni to go and find out London's citizen's views on events. Veeeeery boring. I was one of those people that try to stop you in the street and you basically perform gymnastics, trying to avoid. Although we only spent an hour actually doing this. I had been to London once before when I was 13 but that was to see a specialist at a hospital so I never got to do all the tourist-y stuff. This time was very different!

There is no mistaking that London is a beautiful beautiful city, especially here with the sun setting over the Houses of Parliament. So on the 4th we visited here, Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey.  All stunning.

My and I acting like the ultimate tourists. We got to Big Ben just before 4pm and we were so amazed when it went off.

We also visited the London Eye, London Dungeons and Madame Tussauds which we got an amazing deal on as we bought them together. I had been desperate to go to Madame Tussauds as I had always seen pictures of it and just thought it was amazing. And it did not disappoint! It is so much more than just waxworks, if you go to London and only have time to do one of these excursions I recommend that and while I don't want to give one anything away, the Chamber of Horrors was crazy scary, I left without a voice and all of us found that small section scarier than the whole of the Dungeons! Now don't get me wrong I thought the Dungeons were amazing and the actors in it are better than some I've seen in the West End but I didn't find it all that scary. The London Eye is something everyone has to do in London and it was so much fun. The views were so amazing at all points of the Eye. Our ride was made that little bit better as the 9 of us got a pod to ourselves and one of  the girls decided to pop open her prosecco that she had bought for the night out that night.

Selfies with Britney!

Having a glass of prosecco on the Eye!

Now the biggest downside was the nightlife. £5.90 my friend was charged for a vodka lemonade and lime. £5.90!! I don't think in Glasgow I've ever paid more than £3 for a double. Oh how I missed home that night. Me and two of the other girls actually went back to the hotel as it was so expensive and we would rather have spent our money on excursions. Good thing we did as one of our friends spent more than £200! I understand its a capital city but its so extreme!

I had a great time in London but for me I couldn't wait to be back in my beloved Glasgow!

Let us know your view on London town!

Vanity tour - Gemma's turn!

Hey guys! So if there is something I LOVE on YouTube and blogs, its make-up collection and storage videos or vanity tours. I just love seeing what other people have and how they store their make-up (basically just nosy!) and I loved Laura's post so I thought I would do my own. Now I am not 100% happy with my storage but I can always update when I do! Lets get started...

So this is the overview of my vanity (excuse my stumpy legs in the mirror). My parents got me this from a shop in Glasgow and in typical parent form they can't remember what the shop was called, however if they ever regain memory I will let you guys know. I had been searching for a vanity for months and seen this is a brochure and fell in love. It is so easy to clean and due to the white with the black seat, I feel like it will go with any room I have.

I generally like to keep the top of my vanity simple and de-cluttered. Although I do have a few things on it.

On the left side I have this adorable holder that Laura got me for Christmas which I just keep cotton pads in the top of and my tweezers, nail clippers and usually nail scissors in the bottom. It is such a cute holder and now means I am no longer losing my tweezers all the time. Beside it I just keep a 'Flowerbomb' perfume bottle, that for health reasons I can't actually use. Looks cute though!

On the right side I just have my brush holders which are a black and white box that one of my candles came in and a washed out honey jar. I then have a canvas of me and Sam on a night out which he got me for our anniversary a few years back.

This is a close up of my brush holders. My room is white, black and red and I just thought this goes so well, I couldn't believe it came with a candle. Then that is the honey jar in the background that did have a red ribbon around but I don't know where that wandered off to...

Ok, so into the actually vanity now!

So at the left side I have what looks like one deep drawer or cupboard. The inside is full of surprises! At the bottom of the drawer there is one deep drawer and at the top there is a more shallow one.

In the bottom drawer I keep all my hair products such as my hair dryer, curlers and straightening irons. I also keep a heat protector in this drawer just so I remember to grab it. For some reason I also have Cheryl Cole's book here.

In the top drawer I keep all my eyeliners, jumbo eye pencils and mascaras. I keep them in these plastic case from a set of drawers I used to have. They are slightly like the Muji cases. This just allows me to keep everything desperate. Behind my mascaras I just have a bunch of nail wraps and then loads of Nadine Coyle eyelashes. Can you tell I am a Girls Aloud fan? At the side of these drawers I just have all my lip-liners and a few high beams that didn't have anywhere else to go. Behind them I have an Estee Lauder duo, my Sleek eyebrow kit and a MAC cream shadow palette.

The middle drawer of my vanity is probably my favourite and this is why...

Ah such a fun time! This came all sectioned off which I love as it enables to be able to organise everything better. The left side of the drawer is just all my MAC eyeshaows which actually go a few rows further than this picture shows but I couldn't get that far in! There is a few bigger shadows in the front. The side is lined with the eyeliner I use everyday then MAC Paintpots and Maybelline Colour Tattoos. The back of the middle section is just all my foundations, concealers and primers, both eye and face. The front of the middle sections is just all my MAC lipsticks, a few are missing as some where in bags and pockets!  The right slide just has all my MAC mineralize skinfinishes, natural skinfinishes. Then my Nars lagunas with Nars blushes hidden underneath. Beside them I have all my E.L.F, Sleek, MAC, Stila and Illamasqua blushes.

One too many primers right?

On top the right side of my vanity, I have three deep drawers. The first one is just filled with all my skincare and haircare.

Sorry for the shocking quality of these pictures, it was very awkward trying to get into to take pictures as my bed is behind it! I got this little basket from Tesco just to try and at some sort of organisation to this drawer (it used to extremely stress me out!). I think it was around £4 and I am really chuffed with how well it works in my drawer. In my little basket I just keep my babywipes (I can't use normal face wipes), my simple moisturiser, cleanser, gel wash and toner. I also keep my Skindinavia setting spray in this basket. I am so in love with this spray, I have used the one for dry skin for years and it just makes my make up last all day. In front of the basket I keep all my hair protectors and a roll on deodorant. At the side I just keep lots of extra cotton pads and a few hairbands that I use when applying my make-up.

In the second drawer I keep most of my smaller palettes and my other lip products.

I just line all my palettes up at the front and then have my lip products at the back. I also have my EOS balms and EOS dupes lined up at the side with my Lush lip scrubs. I have a Too Faced bronzer in here that didn't fit into the middle drawer.

For palettes I have a few! Including the Too Faced Natural Eye palette, both the RiRi loves MAC palettes, an Illamasqua one, a Benefit smokey eyes and the Naked 1 and 2 palettes. I don't usually use the Naked palettes often but for some reason I am still lusting after the 3rd one! I also have my eyes on the Too Faced Chocolate Bar and the Smashbox Full Exposure palettes but I am trying to tell myself I don't need anymore eyeshadow!

I currently I keep my lip products that aren't MAC in these containers, one of which is a takeaway food container which I hate! I usually have a lot more Boots/Superdrug brand lipsticks in this drawer but these are all packed away for London. I have all my glosses and baby lips in these.

In the bottom drawer I keep my larger palettes and things that don't have a home!

I have an old Urban Decay 'NYC' palette which I still love. I then have on top of that my E.L.F palette. Under those I have two BH Cosmetics 120 palettes in the first and fifth editions and a Benefit Sugarlicious palette if you can class that as a palette! I also keep an old Elizabeth Arden palette in this drawer. Along with my sharpers and a new Clinique body scrub that is only waiting here until I finish my old one.

So that is my vanity guys! As usually said with these posts I am in no way trying to brag about any of my make-up. I know it is not the biggest but I also know it is not the smallest. It was all purchased either by myself or giving as gifts and I have been collecting this for a long time now! I hoped you enjoyed seeing what I have and how I store it all!

Until next time, lots of love,
